I'm Jessica Ecker. Jess for short. I'm a pretty genuine person who loves coffee, Jesus and world travel! I graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2014 as a Bible major with a double minor in Music and Women's Ministries. During my experience at Bible College I grew in my spiritual walk as I began to shape my own theology through a biblical worldview. After college, I participated in the World Race through Adventures in Missions, from January- November 2015. (Yes, I recommend it, yes, I got head lice) Traveling for 11 months tremendously grew my passion for missions and opened my eyes to the gifts the Father gave to me specifically to minister to His people. That year was a pressure cooker for developing deeper spirituality as I was stretched emotionally further than ever before- while witnessing some of the most tragic sights I could ever imagine, I grew to cleave to the promises of the Father in trusting He was in control.

After returning from the World Race, I ran into John and Penny Jackson, lovers of missions as well as disciples in my brother’s life through his time at college! I've had the pleasure of working with John Jackson for the past year and a half as his Administrative Assistant at Compass 28:19 where I was a mobilizer for various missions’ trips, as the organization emphasizes discipleship through short term missions.

As I planned trips and spoke with individuals, the Father began to again knock on my heart reminding me that my time on the field was not yet over. While I have loved my time at Compass 28:19 serving alongside John and others, I am transitioning from the Home Office back onto the field. I am thrilled to say the Father has opened every door for me to travel to Santiago, Chile where I will serve alongside of my older brother and his family.

Nick, Rebekah and their three children moved to Chile in January 2017 as missionaries through ABWE and you can read all about them here. I will be assisting their missions work and serving in whatever ways needed. From doing dishes and changing diapers to playing piano and teaching children, my heart is for their culture and my desire is to be a blessing to their family as we serve Christ together.
