International Chaplaincy & Law Enforcement - John and Hope MurdochMay 09, 2016
Chaplain John Murdoch and his wife, Hope, joined Compass in the spring of 2016, after retiring from his position as Director of Chaplaincy Ministries with the GARBC. John continues to serve as a chaplain with the Civil Air Patrol, the Indiana State Police, the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, the United States Service Command, and the International Association of Evangelical Chaplains. Prior to his service with the Regular Baptist Chaplaincy Ministries, John was pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Peru, IN (1983-1996) and Third Baptist Church of Philadelphia, PA (1975-1983), and Minister of Youth and Music at First Baptist Church, Hackensack, NJ (1971-1975) and First Baptist Church, Lock Haven, PA (1969-1971). Hope has been his companion, administrative assistant, a church secretary, and a high school English teacher. God has blessed them with four daughters, seven grandchildren, and two great grand children They are always happy to share pictures and stories! Their love for the Lord and for people, and their years of service in local church ministry, para-church organizations, and domestic and international travel bring significant experience to our Compass 28:19 team.
